The team LATEST China is very honored to have had the opportunity to work with the world-renowned artist Wang Guoxin 汪国新, who gave us a special dedication, priceless calligraphy, which was created under the hands of the famous artist himself during the creation of the first issue of the magazine.
Wang Guoxin 汪国新, world-renowned Chinese artist, is a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, a researcher at the Academy of Painting and Calligraphy of the Central Academy of Literature and History, a member of the Art Committee of the China Artists Association, a member of the Cultural Committee of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers, a member of the China Artists Association, a professor of the doctoral program of Beijing Normal University, a national first-class artist enjoying government subsidies, the president of the Three Gorges Painting Academy, and the president of the Beijing Oriental Painting and Calligraphy Research Association.
His works have won many awards from the Ministry of Culture, the China Artists Association, and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. He won the Special Honorary Gold Cup at the first International Comic Strip Festival in Switzerland. His “Chinese Spirit” series of Chinese paintings won the gold medal at the 8th International Art Fair. His works are collected by Zhongnanhai, the Great Hall of the People, the National Library, the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, museums, and the Office of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, China; many of his works have been presented as state gifts to foreign heads of state. He has published and distributed more than 50 monographs on poetry, calligraphy, and painting, with a total of more than 15 million copies. His representative works include the 10-volume comic strip “The Yangtze River Trilogy”, 240 Chinese paintings of “The Romance of the Three Kingdoms”, and the 158-meter silk Chinese painting “The Scenery of the Yangtze River”. He has created more than 7,000 poems. He is especially famous for his paintings of Guan Gong, Confucius, and Chinese heroes. In recent years, he has held more than 30 large-scale exhibitions at home and abroad. He held the “Wang Guoxin Guan Shengdijun Chinese Painting Exhibition” in Taiwan, China, and more than 100,000 politicians and the public visited.
